The Townhouse
Whether a lifelong member or a first-time visitor, who has gazed at the noble façade of 8 East 69th Street or walked into one of its graceful rooms and not wondered in admiration? Our beloved Townhouse, CCF’s cultural, educational, charitable, and social base, has seen scholarships endowed and awarded, parades organized, lessons taught and learned, music performed and enjoyed, meals relished, occasions celebrated, and the accomplishments of Italians and Italian-Americans acknowledged.
But even before the site became the home of the Foundation, it had a long and illustrious philanthropic history filled with distinguished personages, each a beacon of the spirit CCF continues to embody. One could say the site was destined to be the Foundation’s home.
The CCF Townhouse is located at 8 East Sixty-ninth Street and still exhibits today the elegance and grandeur bestowed upon it by premier Boston architectural firm Peabody and Sterns (on commission from Charles Lewis Colby) in 1892. Every visit is a marvel.
