Columbus Guarini Scholarship

Applications are closed for the 2023-24 year, and will reopen in the fall for 2024-25

The Honorable Frank Guarini, Chair Emeritus of John Cabot University, and a CCF founding member, established a perpetual fund to enable Italian American students to attend John Cabot University in Rome. The application is now open to US citizens or residents who are planning to attend John Cabot University for one semester or two consecutive semesters, are of at least 25% Italian heritage, and demonstrate a GPA of 3.5 or higher.


The scholarship is intended for US citizens or residents who are planning to attend John Cabot University for 1 semester or 2 consecutive semesters, are of at least 25% Italian heritage, and demonstrate a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Eligibility: 

  • Be a study abroad student planning to attend John Cabot University for 1 semester or 2 consecutive semesters
  • Be a United States Citizen/Resident of same status
  • Be at least 25% Italian descent
  • Maintain at least an 88% or 3.5 overall academic average

Process: 

Students interested in receiving the Columbus Guarini Scholarship must submit an application online and the required supporting documents to the Columbus Citizens Foundation as instructed in the application. A committee reviews and evaluates the applications.
