On Tuesday, October 26 at 7:00 PM Columbus Citizens Foundation welcomes the Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF) to the Townhouse for a panel discussion. The panel includes former big-league players Frank Catalanotto, Mike Pagliarulo, Hall-Of-Famer John Franco, and baseball broadcaster Wayne Randazzo. IABF Board Director Chris R. Vaccaro will moderate.
Frank Catalanotto spent 14 seasons in the big leagues with the Tigers, Rangers, Blue Jays, Brewers, and Mets. The career .291 hitter was the head coach at NYIT in 2019-2020 and took the Bears to the NCAA Division II College World Series during his first season. In 2021 he was named head coach at Hofstra University. |

Mike Pagiliarulo spent 11 years in the big leagues between the Yankees, Padres, Twins, Orioles and Rangers and 1 season playing in Japan. Drafted by the Yankees in the sixth round out of the University of Miami, he eventually won a World Series with the Twins in 1991 as the team's starting third baseman. Pags later worked as a hitting coach for the Miami Marlins and is an honorary member of the Italian American Baseball Foundation. |

Wayne Randazzo is a sportscaster from Chicago who works play-by-play for the New York Mets on WCBS 880 AM alongside Howie Rose and hosts the post-game program. He also works national play-by-play for television and radio with Fox Sports, Big Ten Network and Sports USA. |

Chris R. Vaccaro is an Emmy Award winning journalist, author and professor. The Vice President of Digital News at Altice USA, Vaccaro is Director of Graduate Journalism at Hofstra University, his work has been featured in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, ESPN, Sports Illustrated and The Athletic and he is the author of six books. He is a board director of IABF.
The Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF) is a 501c3 charity foundation established in 2016 that is committed to developing and promoting youth baseball and softball in the United States and Italy by sponsoring clinics and camps supervised by MLB players, scouts, and college coaches.
The goal is to harness an appreciation for our Italian American culture and heritage through baseball and softball. IABF awards college baseball and softball scholarships to high school students, donates equipment to organized youth teams and individuals in need and advises on citizenship documentation for players in Italy and America. The IABF is committed to achieving excellence in the classroom, on the field and in the community.
